What Are Biodegradable And Compostable Bags?
Traditional plastic is widely known as not being the best choice for the environment, Compostable and biodegradable bags are less toxic and more environmentally friendly than traditional plastic bags due to their ability to break down rapidly in the
right environment. They are known as bioplastics, being made from renewable materials.
Composting process
Is it really compostable? How soon will it compost?
Our bags are compostable. It is certified for Industrial composting by two certifying bodies: TÜV Austria in Belgium under
European standard EN13432. This certificate proves that our bags would fully biodegrade in a Industrial composting environment
within 360 days according to the standards.
Please note that the above biodegradation speed is regulated in the above-mentioned standards as minimum requirement. In actual
use, many factors, such different temperature, moisture and microorganism, would influence the speed of biodegradation of Ecopro’s
product.
What is it made of? Is this same as the additive type of bags? I know those are not really biodegradable.
Our products are made of renewable material such as starch, and fully compostable material PBAT. They can truly decompose together
with the organic waste inside, and turn into CO2, water, and humus. After composting, the compost can be used as nutrition for
